TEC Star in Valencia for the General Assembly Meeting of the FP7 european project NanoMicex

NANOMICEX (www.nanomicex.eu) – Mitigation of Risk and Control of Exposure in Nanotechnology-based Inks and Pigments is a project of the call: FP7-NMP-2011-SMALL-5: “Collaborative Project”. TEC Star is part of the SME partners participating in the project. It provides some kind of nanoparticles for the preliminary analysis and keep its own laboratories available for the initial tests of exposure assessment and control.

Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12 was held in Valencia at the Technological Park, and in particular at ITENE the coordinator of the project, the periodic General Assembly meeting of the project.

The agenda of the Meeting was about the main progress of the project after the first year of activities, with the various technical parts driven by the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin for the characterization of the nanoparticles, the Yeditepe University, Istanbul, for their functionalization and the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, for toxicological characterization of the nanoparticles themselves, and of course ITENE, in charge of developing and analyzing control systems for the safe use and management of the nanoparticles in the workplace.

During the meeting several ideas and starting points for the optimization and continuation of the activities for the next semester, have been identified.
