Analysis of materials and surfaces
TEC STAR is able to provide a complete analysis service of surfaces and coatings of materials (conductors, ceramics, plastics, etc.), thanks to our internal laboratory and collaborations with universities and public and/or private research institutions in Italy, such as for example the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and CNR and abroad; using our technical instruments we can characterize:
- Chemical composition: determination of chemical elements and their concentration (qualitative and quantitative analysis);
- Morphology and possible crystallographic structure of coatings and materials;
- Mechanics: surface hardness, scratch resistance, adhesion of coatings, tribological behavior (friction and wear).
Contamination Analysis
We can chemically investigate the surface of devices, materials and coatings to detect the presence of contaminants, in concentrations down to a few ppm
Tribological Analysis
Studying the tribological properties of a material makes it possible to determine its coefficient of friction, wear resistance, and thus test the efficiency of liquid or solid lubricants, under varying process conditions
