TM80
DESCRIPTION
TM80 It is a solvent-based protective surface coating for metals, polymers, and ceramics, with anti-adhesive properties. It does not contain fluorinated compounds.
It is suitable for food contact only after complete cross-linking.
TM80 creates a transparent, compact surface coating that resists to abrasion, high temperatures (up to 250°C), atmospheric agents, and UV rays.
It has a surface hardness of 6H (measured using a pencil test) and reduces the adhesion of dirt and bacteria. In technical terms, this creates a low surface energy coating, making the material easy to clean, even from food processing residues in industrial machinery for the food industry.
It protects surfaces from fingerprints, limescale, oil, or grease.
It is resistant to corrosion and oxidation.
Main Properties
CHARACTERISTICS
- It protects surfaces against corrosion/oxidation, from chlorine and in general from acids and bases substances
- Anti-adherent against dirt and fingerprint
- High compactness and good adhesion to multi surfaces
- 6H hardness and abrasion resistance
- Resistant to high temperatures (max 250°C) and UV rays
- Good for Food Contact in food industry
ADVANTAGES
- It can be used in chemical aggressive environments
- Decreased adhesion of dirt and bacteria
- It creates a thin and very adherent coating, which uniformly covers even complex surfaces, without peeling off
- It does not degrade in sunlight and temperature
- PFAS Free
BENEFITS
- Increased life of the treated materials and reduced maintenance and cleaning times and costs
- There are no uncovered areas, it covers the surface pores of the material, with high durability
- It can be used to replace PTFE coating
- It can be used to replace chrome coatings on steel
AVAILABLE FORMATS
TM80 is supplied in:
- 250ml aluminum cans
- 500ml aluminum cans
Storage and shelf life
TM80 must be stored in the original packaging in a dry and cool place (with a temperature not higher than 25°C and not lower than 5°C). In these conditions the product can be stored for 12 months.
Usage tips
TM80 is a ready-to-use product (do not dilute with solvents or other liquids).
The substrate to be coated must be clean, free of oily and/or greasy substances, free of residual surfactants, and dry. To remove any residue from previous cleaning steps, use Heptane solvent. If moisture is present on the surface, TM80 reacts negatively, not forming a compact, well-adhered layer. The substrate temperature must be between 5°C and <30°C. The relative humidity must be between 30% and 80%.
Depending on the size and shape of the substrate, the product can be applied by hand, with a microfiber roller, or with an airbrush.
Airbrush application:
- Use an HVLP system
- Working pressure: 2-4 bar
- Nozzle: 0.7-1 mm
The airbrush must be thoroughly clean, free of solid residues and water. Clean with butyl acetate after use and before application.
DO NOT apply the product in windy, sunny, or rainy conditions.
TM80 has a coverage of 70-80 m²/L on non-porous materials and 40-50 m²/L on porous materials.
The product must be applied only by trained personnel equipped with the appropriate PPE, as indicated in the safety data sheet.
Do not clean the coated surface with substances containing Acetic Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide in concentrations >= 5% in water.
