PROTECTIVE-HT

DESCRIPTION

PROTECTIVE-HT is a ceramic surface treatment, transparent, protective for metals, resistant to corrosion and oxidation by liquid and gaseous substances, both acidic and basic, at high temperatures.

PROTECTIVE-HT is resistant to UV rays and has good adhesion to both metals and surface coatings (nickel plating, zinc plating, burnishing, heat treatments, vacuum treatments)

PROTECTIVE-HT stay on coated surface usually for more than 2 years.

Main Properties

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Uniformity, compactness and good adhesion to surfaces
  • Resistant to high temperatures (over 900°C) and UV rays
  • It protects against corrosion/oxidation at high temperatures

ADVANTAGES

  • Creates a thin, tightly bonded coating that evenly coats even complex surfaces without peeling off
  • It does not degrade in sunlight and high temperature
  • It can also be used in harsh chemical environments

BENEFITS

  • It fills the surface porosity of the material, with high durability
  • It can be used outdoors
  • Increased life of the treated materials and reduced maintenance times and costs

AVAILABLE FORMATS

PROTECTIVE-HT is supplied in:

  • 250ml aluminum cans
  • 1L aluminum cans

Storage and shelf life

PROTECTIVE-HT must be stored in the original packaging in a dry and cool place (with a temperature not higher than 25°C and not lower than 5°C). In this way the product can be stored for 12 months.

Usage tips

PROTECTIVE-HT is a ready-to-use product (do not dilute with solvents or other liquid substances).

It can be applied by spray, with HVLP (High Volume and Low Pressure) or AIRLESS system, or by hand (fleece or microfiber cloth).

OPTIMAL APPLICATION CONDITIONS:

  • DO NOT apply in windy conditions
  • DO NOT apply if the surface is damp or wet (the dew point must NOT be on the surface to be treated)
  • DO NOT apply on surfaces that are too hot or exposed to the sun, to prevent the solvent from evaporating too quickly and creating unwanted accumulations of product
  • Optimal environmental conditions: temperatures between 5°C and 30°C and relative humidity (RH) not exceeding 80%.

APPLICATION:

  • Clean and degrease the surface before application
  • Apply the product by hand using a cloth or fleece with short bristles (pay attention to the formation of any scratches or halos) or by spray with HVLP or AIRLESS system, using an airbrush with a 0.5-0.8 mm nozzle and pressure 1-1.5 bar.
  • Heat the treated piece in the oven at a temperature of 200-250°C for 2 hours.

If corrosion/oxidation high resistance properties are to be achieved at temperatures above 600°C, a further thermal cure is required at 700-800°C for a further 2 hours, in an inert gas atmosphere (e.g. nitrogen or argon).

YIELD: PROTECTIVE-HT has a yield of 70-80 m2/kg.

PROTECTIVE-HT contains solvent: Toluene.
